Content Patch 3.2 – Part 2

Now that I am back from vacation I can get back to business here.

While I was gone it would seem more details have trickled out of Blizzard regarding changes coming in 3.2.  Most is just more details on what we already know.  But plenty more detail regarding the new Battleground, and a bit more on mount changes coming.

Isle of Conquest

The Isle of Conquest battleground is going to be a 40 vs. 40 encounter.  The idea is that taking control of key resources on the island will give your side a boost in some way.  While this idea sounds good in theory, I can’t help but wonder if it will be a zerg fest to

whatever is determined the “best” resource to control and after that its all about taking down the boss at the end, which is similar to Alterac Valley.

wowbattlegroundsI truly hope that if one side has the Airship Hangar, that it can be countered if the other side gets control of say the Siege Workshop.  This isn’t a real example but I hope that controlling one doesn’t mean it returns to a zerg fest.  While I do like PVP from the standpoint it can be quick and dirty fun, I long for the original Alterac Valley where it was an epic battle that lasted hours, every resource you gathered helped contribute to getting your elemental, or your bombers or

reinforcements.

The battleground in 3.2 has a lot of upside, but hopefully it doesn’t turn into a “forget the resources zerg to the end boss and kill him” like Alterac Valley degenerated into.

Mount Changes

In 3.2 it has been announced that mount changes are coming.  Some have seen this as a “bad” change, while others welcome it.  To me the changes signify Blizzard’s desire to get more of the newer players and alts to move around Azeroth and the Outlands faster, which will assist in getting them to level 80 faster and enjoying the latest content.

Here is a complete list of the changes being made:

I am all for these changes, as I dread leveling some of my alts, because I hate walking around everywhere, I may actually get back to my warrior or my shaman now with some of these changes, as they will truly benefit my leveling capabilities.

But I can also see the frustration on some peoples’ parts where they spent tons of gold and time back in the day (read WoW Classic) to get their mounts and now its been somewhat trivialized, but hey thats in the past, why live in the past my friends, you have to keep looking forward, and see this for what it is, a means to get to level 80 faster.

Rumors and Hearsay

So I picked up this little tid-bit reading through the Shaman Q&A.

Quote from blizzard:

One of the problems we have with dropping one-handed weapons is the overlap. If we drop axes, rogues can’t use them. If we drop swords, shamans can’t use them. If we drop fists, death knights can’t use them. We are looking at changing one of these restrictions in 3.2, though it likely won’t be for shamans to use swords.

Basically talking about the weapons they can and can’t use, which limits their options, but because of this it sound like either Rogues will get to use 1 handed axes OR Death Knights will be able to use fist weapons OR maybe both?
